The Fox & Hounds

I visited The Fox & Hounds last year during the 2010 Silverstone British Grand Prix after getting bored waiting to get served in Silverstone on Friday night. We found it quite by accident.

It is an Excellent pub restaurant with marvellous food and plenty of activity. And I got my pint within my obligatory two minutes. I’ve not had that experience for almost ten years in Silverstone Village, when I remember being able to actually sit down at a table to consume my drink and eat some passionately prepared food.

Highly recommended and only ten to fifteen minutes walk from Gate 5 (North Gate, between the old Pits Straight B Stand and the Copse A Stand), of Silverstone Circuit. That is exactly the same amount of time to Silverstone Village.

Hamilton Fields Campsite

I think the name says it all, as it has to be the best campsite to stay at during your Silverstone F1 weekend. Close to the circuit and within easy walking distance to The White Horse, Croft’s Stores and Silverstone Village.

It’s a very friendly and family run campsite, just peaceful and easy going. And if you really fancy a hot shower, then this is the place to go. Yes, I’ve gone three days without a shower at ‘other’ campsites.

Seems Toro Rosso have found a formula (?) for getting points in races.

Jaime Alguersuari qualified 18th, finished the race in 8th and picked up 4 points both at the Europe Round and at the Canada Round. That kind of drive for a larger team or better known driver would have been noteworthy.

Perhaps Frank and Sam should have a butchers at STR strategy for Silverstone? Or better yet, improve the car.

Who said campsites were no fun?

Certainly looks like Eddie and Jake enjoyed themselves in the campsite at the Silverstone F1 Grand Prix last year. Bet they didn’t have to camp though.

Not sure about the poor people who ate the sausages though!
